Open Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 am - 5:00 pm during the growing season.
Blooms are cut at the optimum time and conditioned overnight so your flowers will look beautiful as long as possible. Availability is what is blooming in the garden as well as supplemental roses from market.
You can take your time and choose your favorites, or you can call ahead and I can have something ready for you.
Flowers are available by the stem, bunch, and sometimes jar bouquets at the flower cart in Scituate, RI.
Cart will reopen when the daffodils bloom.
Seventeen years ago (2007), my four teenagers were still growing up, and on a beautiful autumn day when my garden was flush with blooms, I decided to take some jars of flowers down to the end of our driveway, and placed them on a little old bench for $5.00 each. The next year, I used a shortened up twin size bed, and a few years later, this wonderful cart idea came to life with its advantageous waterproof roof, sun blocking walls, and wheels to move to storage out of the way of plows for winter.
Originally, the base was a farm cart built by Arvo Nieme (b. 1918) from an old broken down delivery truck his dad had on his farm. Yes, a hundred years ago! Arvo used his adaptation for hauling vegetables from his hundred acre field in Foster, RI. Our Ed transformed it into a protective shelter for the flowers of the day using all recycled materials.
The cart is usually set up flower bar style. Prices are indicated in each bucket.
The best time to come is in the morning, Bring a jar or bucket containing water to keep your blooms fresh for their journey.
If you are looking for something specific, please call or text me. I post what's blooming on my instagram and facebook feeds (links below).
